Noted Photojournalist Designs Rugged Line of Portable Lighting Tools for Portable Flash

Noted photojournalist David Honl has released a rugged and innovative line of lighting tools designed to fit any shoe-mount flash and provide a wide variety of dramatic light shaping.

(PRWEB) September 19, 2007 -- Noted photojournalist David Honl has released a rugged and innovative line of lighting tools designed to fit any shoe-mount flash and provide a wide variety of dramatic light shaping. Honl's designs came from the need for durable, lightweight and easy to manipulate tools for his compact shoe-mounted flashes.

"I can't always carry my studio strobes and lightboxes with me, so I want to maximize the control I have over my small shoe-mount strobes." says Honl, adding, "I've been making my own light shaping tools for years, usually out of cardboard and duct tape. After handing out prototypes of my new designs to several photographer friends, I got the feedback I needed to finally release products I'm very proud of."

I can't always carry my studio strobes and lightboxes with me, so I want to maximize the control I have over my small shoe-mount strobes.
The quality of Honl's products are evident: ballistic nylon, Velcro in all the right places, and extreme condition slip-free materials are seen throughout his product line. Travelling extensively, most recently in remote areas like Iraq, Turkey, and Kazakhstan, has given him the luxury of using world travel as his workbench and testing ground.

All products are extremely lightweight and carry flat, taking up very little camera bag real estate. They fit most shoe mount strobes, including the popular Canon 430 through 580 Speelites and Nikon SB-24 through SB-800 Speedlights.

The Speed Strap ($9.95) is the base of the system, a slip-free wraparound band that attaches quickly to any speedlight and provides a wide and secure area to mount snoots, gobos, and reflectors.

The Speed Snoot concentrates the output of a flash to create a soft edged circle of light and is very useful in cinematic portraiture and creative background lighting. Made of tough ballistic nylon with an aluminized fabric interior, Speedlight Snoots lay flat for easy carrying in a camera bag. Available in 2 sizes: 8" Regular ($22.95) and 5" Shorty ($18.95).

The Speed Gobo/Flag ($10.95) is a reversable black/white ballistic nylon and polymer card used to block light from areas of a scene and also prevent light from scattering into the camera lens and causing lens flare. To extend the versatility even further, Speed Gobo/Flags can be used easily in pairs for a "barndoor" setup.

All products are available exclusively online at http://www.HonlPhoto.com and are shipped worldwide.
