Denver, CO (PRWEB) September 24, 2007 -- The Shadow Cast, a critically acclaimed anthology of short fiction, has been re-released onto the international market by the book's publisher, BeWrite Books. Mike Broemmel, the author of The Shadow Cast, resides in Denver, Colorado, and has another book currently available entitled The Miller Moth.
In announcing the return of The Shadow Cast by Mike Broemmel onto the market worldwide, the book's editor Neil Marr, who is located in the South of France, announced:
"Each tale in this book by Mike Broemmel can proudly stand alone in the greatest tradition of story telling. However, when read in sequence, the painstaking order established by Mike Broemmel in this amazing collection packs the punch of an epic novel. The stories in The Shadow Cast by Mike Broemmel present what can only be described as a satisfyingly complete saga of stark, simple truth that is all but unique in the annals of fiction. The Shadow Cast presents an insightful record of reality that we never knew existed before Mike Broemmel."
The Shadow Cast has an origin that is unique in all of the world of literature. A section of the The Shadow Cast was written on toilet paper strips with only a stub of a pencil to serve the author's writing needs. In the mid-1990s, Mike Broemmel ended up being charged with a while collar crime arising out of his ownership of a business. This occurred at a time in Broemmel's life when he was diagnosed with severe, debilitating depression and ended up being hospitalized as an inpatient in the Menninger Clinic for a period of ten weeks.
Ultimately, Mike Broemmel pleaded guilty to a couple of white collar charges and ended up spending thirteen months incarcerated in a federal prison camp. While on route to the prison camp, Mike Broemmel was forced to spend nearly a week in a dismal major city jail where his only amenities were a roll of toilet paper and a pencil stub. Even at the lowest point in his own life, Mike Broemmel took advantage of his grim situation and started to write -- words that ended up being published the world over.
After returning to the "real world" Mike Broemmel has continued his writing career and has begun making presentations around the country centering on his own life story. At the present time, Mike Broemmel has a stage play heading to production and is negotiating the rights to his own memoirs.
In summing up both the life of Mike Broemmel and his written work, Marr concluded:
"You see, through his experiences, Mike Broemmel has discovered a vital truth. Gritty and honest are his stories. They are a celebration of the indomitable human spirit. The longer you stare from the shelter of a shadow, the more likely you are to see the clouds break. The more likely you are to see the first shafts of sunlight that dry the rain ... and the tears."
