Indie Rocker and Independent Music Awards "Christian Album of the Year" winner Sonia V. hits the political arena with her special brand of Rock-n-Roll by way of her critically acclaimed song "Superstar" which has been chosen as the campaign theme song for political candidate David R. Grate (http://www.davidrgrate2008.us).
Grate is running for the US House of Representatives in the 22nd Congressional District in New York State for the November 2008 Election. On Monday, December 10, 2007, The Constitution Party of New York announced its endorsement of Mr. David R. Grate for US House of Representatives in the 22nd Congressional District. Grate is also a supporter of Ron Paul for the Republican nomination for President of the United States of which Grate shares many of the same values and goals. (http://www.ronpaul2008.com)
David R. Grate states, "I am an educator, not a politician. The reason I decided to run for the 22nd Congressional District of New York was that this area needs a regular person to represent it, not a career politician."
He continued, "When I first heard the song 'Superstar' I immediately took a liking to the song. Sonia V., the performing artist, is a regular person who just likes to sing. That's what the song is about; singing because she loves to sing, not because she wants to be a superstar. I am running in the upcoming election because it's what I am being led to do, not because I want to be a politician. My political aspirations end at Congress -- I don't want to be President or a Senator, I just want to represent my neighbors."
