Decision Support Has Deployed 3200 EViD Units
Company's voter check-in machine continues expansion.
Matthews, NC (PRWEB) January 3, 2008 -- Decision Support's electronic voter check-in workstation, EViD, has been through more election cycles than any other provider in the United States. A total of 3200 EViD units have been delivered to U.S. counties as of December, 2007. This solid, secure electronic poll book (or e-poll book) is powered by a central voter registration database that is used to check in the voter, match them to their necessary ballot style and to generate a printed ticket to vote. EViD increases speed and accuracy and offers a more consistent check-in process across precincts.
"After pilots were conducted in counties in Virginia and North Carolina during the November 6th, 2007 General Election, the number of successful elections via deployed EViDs in the United States far exceeds the number of any other electronic voter registration machine out there," said Winn Maddrey, Vice President of Business Development at Decision Support. "We are proud to say that EViD has been well-accepted by poll workers, Election Officials, and voters. What was once a strictly paper-based process is becoming an electronic process that serves as a safe, secure check and balance to the voting process, thanks to EViD" Maddrey continued.
Since EViD was developed in 2004, the workstations have processed voters in more than 125 elections. With the most recent version of the software piloted in Essex County, Va., York County, S.C., and Buncombe and Mecklenburg counties in N.C., Decision Support's e-poll book continues to expand into the national marketplace.
