U.S. Market Development Group Helps Build Opportunity Bridge to El Salvador

Austin, TX (PRWEB) January 6, 2008 -- U.S. Market Development Group (USMDG) president Joseph Garvey recently returned from El Salvador where he was a keynote speaker at a technology conference to promote bilateral trade between El Salvador and the U.S.

The 'Second International Congress of Innovation, Science and Technology' held on November 11 and 12, was designed to establish a dialogue and increase awareness of import and export opportunities with U.S. trading partners. As a key member of the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA), El Salvador is seeking to strengthen U.S. ties. Mr. Garvey, an appointed member of the Texas District Export Council and international business professor at International Business Institute, was invited by the El Salvadoran government to speak and participate in the Congress to share insights about how to expand trade opportunities.

Following the Congress, Garvey and USMDG El Salvador representative Manuel (Manolo) Gutierrez held one-on-one meetings with members of the U.S. Agency for International Development, the American Chamber of Commerce in El Salvador, and companies interested in developing bilateral trade relationships.
