Parents enroll in the eGuardian service to make social networking web sites and Internet search engines safe for their children. The partnership between eGuardian and FoundationCare will be heralded in a promotional campaign on the family-friendly cable networks Oxygen, Nickelodeon, the Food Network and ABC Family. The eGuardian application, which runs on any Windows- or Mac-based computer, verifies the age of a child and blocks contact with predators by allowing children to interact online only with other eGuardian-verified children. The service also blocks pornography sites, and allows popular search engines to automatically filter search results for the age of the child visitor.

eGuardian is available for a one-time fee of $20. Special programs are available to waive the fee for low-income households. Schools that choose to participate directly in eGuardian registration can earn more money per enrollment, and receive free unlimited use of the service for protecting children on school computers.
