Shondelle Solomon-Miles, South Florida fitness expert and owner of Synergize! launches an 8-week weight loss challenge to assist South Florida residents with achieving their New Years resolution effectively, efficiently and safely. Some of the proceeds of the "ShapeUpHollywood" challenge will be donated to FLIPANY, a FT. Lauderdale charity that educates disadvantaged youth on proper nutrition and the importance of regular physical activity.

Hollywood fitness expert, Shondelle Solomon-Miles owner of Synergize! Semi-Private Training Studio, will host The First Annual 'Shape Up Hollywood'-an 8-week fitness and weight loss challenge.

"The purpose of the challenge is to kick-off 2008 by teaching South Florida residents a proven strategy for achieving their New Year's Resolutions of health and fitness and raising money for a great charity, FLIPANY, for which I have a personal affinity," explains Shondelle Solomon-Miles, a certified fitness professional with seven years experience in the South Florida area.

"Most people set health and fitness goals for the New Year, but have no solid plan on how to achieve them. During this 8-week challenge, we will hold participants by the hand and show them exactly what they need to do in order to achieve permanent results. Participants will compete in one of two age categories: 30-45, and 45+. Contestants will exercise three times weekly in a small group format with a Synergize! fitness coach. The challenge will commence with a nutrition workshop and grocery shopping tour to ensure that all participants understand the nutritional principles necessary to achieve optimal results.

Challenge winners will be determined by the amount of inches, body fat, and weight lost. Altogether, more than $1,500 prizes will be offered to the winners in each age category. The grand prize for the challenge is a two-night Bahamas cruise vacation. Other prizes include gift certificates from local Hollywood businesses some of which include Try My Thai and Massage Therapeutics.

Synergize! will donate 10% of all "Shape Up Hollywood" proceeds to Ft. Lauderdale based charity, FLIPANY (Florida Introduces Physical Activity and Nutrition to Youth). "Child obesity is reaching alarming numbers. This bothers me tremendously, because our youth are our future and with the way things are going, we have a very unhealthy future to look forward to" says Solomon-Miles. "The good news is that we can reverse this trend if we teach and encourage our adults to lead healthier and more active lives so they can educate our youth and serve as positive role models."

The 'Shape-Up Hollywood' Challenge begins on January 21st. To apply or to receive more information please visit http://www.ShapeUpHollywood.com or call Synergize! at 954-924-4465.
