Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) January 6, 2008
Dyrand Systems Inc., a Vancouver-based provider of managed IT outsource services, today announced that CEO and founder Trent Dyrsmid has been named to Business in Vancouver (BIV)'s 2007 Forty Under 40 list.
Recognized for building Dyrand Systems from start-up to a PROFIT 100 company with $1.3 million in revenue in six short years, Dyrsmid didn't achieve success without taking on personal risk -- he stuck his neck out and sold his house to make it happen.
In 2001, when the idea was still very new in Vancouver, Dyrsmid offered an alternative model for IT support ideally suited for small businesses and non-profits. His insight? Instead of charging to fix things every time they broke, he'd charge to keep them maintained and working in the long term, aligning the interests of his clients and his company. It's an idea that's clearly working.
On his success, Dyrsmid points out that passion and determination are key: "Hard work and focus are certainly important, but it's the attitude you choose--and your belief that you can achieve what you want -- that makes all the difference."
Business in Vancouver's Forty Under 40 list selects Vancouver's outstanding entrepreneurs, executives, managers and professionals in the business and non-profit sectors for qualities such as achievement, leadership, innovation, vision or community involvement. The honour illustrates the value of pursuing business dreams and shares the inspiring stories of the up-and-coming professionals driving B.C.'s economy. The award will be presented at a ceremony in February.
