Tim Gannon, one of the co-founders of the Outback Steakhouse organization and an avid high goal polo player and patron, has joined Florida's Hobe Sound Polo Club as a Founding Member and as a member of its Board of Directors.

Hobe Sound, FLA (PRWEB) January 7, 2008 -- Tim Gannon, one of the co-founders of the Outback Steakhouse organization and an avid high goal polo player and patron, has joined Florida's Hobe Sound Polo Club as a Founding Member and as a member of its Board of Directors.

Gannon's Outback Polo is one of the most successful teams on the polo circuit and a winner of several U.S. Open titles. Gannon is a champion polo player, who has enjoyed the sport with some of the most famed polo players in the world.

We are extremely pleased to have an individual as passionate about polo as Tim Gannon join our Board of Directors at the Hobe Sound Polo Club
Introduced to polo by the legendary founder of Steak & Ale, Norman Brinker, Gannon's accomplishments as a polo player soon rivaled his polo mentor. Brinker won the U.S. Open in 1975, and in 1999, it was Brinker who handed Gannon his U.S. Open trophy.

"We are extremely pleased to have an individual as passionate about polo as Tim Gannon join our Board of Directors at the Hobe Sound Polo Club," said Bob Whitley, who, in partnership with Tucker Frederickson and Rockwood Capital Corporation, is the developer of the club. "Tim not only brings years of experience as a highly successful businessman, but also a well-grounded knowledge of polo and its international importance in the sporting world. Tim's leadership as part of the Board of Directors will be invaluable to this community."

Gannon, a native of Fort Lauderdale and a graduate of Florida State University, founded Outback Steakhouse in 1988 with Robert Basham and Chris Sullivan in Tampa, Fla. Today, Outback Steakhouses are located throughout the United States and in 21 countries.

Hobe Sound Polo Club is a gated community of private 20-acre estates, founded by a group of veteran polo club players and professionals in Hobe Sound, Fla., and dedicated to those who are passionate about the game of polo. Its location next to the Atlantic Ridge State Park and near Jonathan Dickinson State Park and the white, sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean make it an ideal oasis in the heart of the Treasure Coast.
