Consumer friendly design and interactive features bring new level of sophistication to insurance industry

Woburn, Mass (PRWEB) January 8, 2008 -- The Savings Bank Life Insurance Company of Massachusetts (SBLI) today announced the launch of a new website and e-commerce initiative. The site includes many up-to-date interactive features and resources for consumers looking to make informed decisions on their financial future.

The new www.SBLI.com will make it much easier for consumers to learn about different types of life insurance, gauge how much insurance they might need, or to get a quick rate quote. For those who prefer verbal communication, a "call me now" button will initiate a phone call from an SBLI employee who can answer any questions and easily begin the policy process on the phone.

"We are pleased to give consumers a resource on the web for assist them in making important life insurance decisions," says William Gaffney, Senior Vice President of SBLI. We have created this site to make the process as simple, efficient, and informative as possible."

The site will also have a financial planning resources section featuring the expertise of National Public Radio's financial expert, Jonathan Pond. Pond's videos, brochures, and newsletter will all be available from the new SBLI website. They offer useful information to consumers on basic financial decisions, such as saving for college, or buying a house.

The site also includes a microsite from new SBLI spokesman Tedy Bruschi. Visitors to the microsite can learn about Tedy's recent health issues, which prompted him to endorse SBLI. They can also enter to win Tedy Bruschi's season tickets and other Tedy memorabilia.

Conceived by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Louis D. Brandeis, the Savings Bank Life Insurance system was established in Massachusetts in 1907. The Massachusetts company is currently licensed in 15 states and the District of Columbia. Its products are now available through 200 financial institutions in New England; Plymouth Rock Assurance Corp. and Mt. Washington Assurance Corp. property and casualty agents; the Massachusetts and New Hampshire Societies of CPAs; and AAA Southern New England, AAA Merrimack Valley, and AAA Pioneer Valley.

In addition, the Company's products are offered to New Jersey residents through members of the New Jersey League of Community Bankers; to consumers in Virginia through an alliance with the Virginia Bankers Association; and to consumers in Tennessee through an alliance with the Tennessee Bankers Association. It is also endorsed by the Massachusetts Bankers Association.

Consumers may also deal directly with Savings Bank Life Insurance in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia, Tennessee, Maryland, Washington, D.C., West Virginia, North Carolina and California.
