We're excited about working with Bigfoot Networks and extending the PLAYXPERT platform to run portions of it inside a dedicated NPU like the Killer NIC

Bigfoot Networks, Inc., makers of the award winning Killer™ NIC gaming network card, today announced a joint development and marketing agreement with PLAYXPERT™, the leading provider of next-generation in-game player community tools. The companies are creating a Killer-optimized PLAYXPERT control panel and gamer toolset that runs directly on the card giving gamers a smoother, more responsive experience while communicating with other players or accessing game resources.

The Killer NIC gaming network card is designed to reduce the lag and network latency associated with high action MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) and FPS (First Person Shooter) games. Killer also allows popular gamer applications such as Firewall, Bit Torrent, and 3D Voice Chat to be offloaded from the CPU to Killer's NPU eliminating any performance impact to game play. Bigfoot Networks and PLAYXPERT will use the PLAYXPERT semi-transparent overlay technology and open widget library to give users seamless access to the rest of the internet (web, chat, torrent, voice, etc.) while gaming.

"Gamers will appreciate the ability to use PLAYXPERT's deep widget library to access things like WoWWiki and thottbott while in-game, and have it impact their system 0%. Killer owners will also enjoy a whole series of special PLAYXPERT widgets designed just for them including Voice, Torrent, and the ability to pop in to Killer's Linux O/S any time they want, even in-game," said Harlan Beverly, CEO of Bigfoot Networks, Inc.

PLAYXPERT utilizes an in-game overlay technology that works with any game using DirectX and OpenGL. Through an extensible widget architecture, PLAYXPERT brings the key tools that gamers need into the game, giving users more control over their multiplayer gaming resources and a rich set of social networking tools like chat, VoIP and web browsing.

"We're excited about working with Bigfoot Networks and extending the PLAYXPERT platform to run portions of it inside a dedicated NPU like the Killer NIC," said Charles Manning, CEO of PLAYXPERT. "Our customers will benefit from both greater system performance and unique Killer-PLAYXPERT features."
