TrustedPlaces members love sharing their experiences and have a passion for food and eating out. We're delighted to be able to extend our booking service to them.
London, Greater London (PRWEB) January 10, 2008
TrustedPlaces announces today a partnership with toptable.co.uk that enables its users to book at 3,000 restaurants across Europe. TrustedPlaces is a local reviews community website, where users can discover restaurants, bars, hotels, cafes and more -- all recommended by real people. Members can also share their opinions through their own reviews and receive personalised recommendations by their friends and peers. With the deal announced today, TrustedPlaces adds bookings to its core service, enhancing its value to the end user.
The London-based startup has invested heavily in its online product offering since raising equity finance from HOWZAT Media in February 2007. Today's deal marks another service enhancement, which follows the introductions of personalised recommendations, video reviews, user generated lists and an overall enhanced product design that was released in September. TrustedPlaces innovative approach was recognised by the Guardian in July, which selected the company as "One of the Top 10 British Dotcoms to Watch". In November The Times placed TrustedPlaces on top of their list of the "50 Best Travel sites of 2007".
"TrustedPlaces members love sharing their experiences and have a passion for food and eating out. We're delighted to be able to extend our booking service to them." said Charlie Sefi, head of partnerships at toptable.co.uk.
TrustedPlaces co-founder Walid Al Saqqaf said: "This is the next step in our mission to provide discerning foodies with a definitive site for all their restaurant needs. We're therefore very excited to be working with toptable.co.uk and to be fully integrating their booking engine into TrustedPlaces."
He continued. "What people love most about TrustedPlaces is its ability to tailor recommendations to their particular taste. We are delighted that with this new site enhancement, members can now book at great new places with the benefit of also having recommendations from friends and other TrustedPlaces members with similar tastes.
With reviews from over 450 cities in 40 countries, TrustedPlaces allows users to discover and share online all the latest information on where to go out, via reviews and recommendations from the TrustedPlaces community of passionate, individual reviewers. TrustedPlaces also allows business owners to gain valuable insights into what their customers think about their venue and attract new customers by interacting with an engaged, targeted audience amplifying word of mouth for their business.
Started by Sokratis Papafloratos and Walid Al Saqqaf in May 2006, the company went on to secure £500k investment from HOWZAT Media the investment fund started by Cheapflights' David Soskin and Hugo Burge. By autumn 2007, TrustedPlaces had featured in the Guardian's 'Top 10 dotcoms to watch' and was at the top of the Times' 'Top 50 travel websites of 2007'.
