BNI-Misner Charitable Foundation Joins Forces with Red Cross to Help Fire Victims

The BNI-Misner Foundation, BNI's non-profit charitable program, opens new fund specifically for donation to the Red Cross wildfire relief efforts in California.

Upland, CA (PRWEB) January 15, 2008 -- The BNI-Misner Foundation, a non-profit program created by BNI (the world's largest professional business networking organization) in 1998 to support charitable causes, has made the first of many upcoming contributions to the Red Cross in order to help relief efforts toward the wildfires that swept much devastation throughout California in late 2007.

During the BNI International Directors' Conference in November of 2007, Dr. Ivan Misner, Founder and Chairman of BNI, presented a check for $15,000 to the San Diego Red Cross on behalf of the BNI-Misner Foundation. The Foundation's wildfire fund is set to make several more donations to the Red Cross toward wildfire relief efforts in various other areas of California that were hit hard by the devastating fires of last fall.

BNI has always had a commitment to being a socially responsible corporation which feels it is extremely important to give back to and support the communities in which it operates all across the globe; yet, BNI's Founder and Chairman Dr. Misner has personal reasons for wanting to help victims of these fires.

He says, "These fires bring back some horrific memories for me. Just a few years ago, a 40 foot wall of flames swept past my home near the foothills of Claremont, CA and more than two dozen homes burned down in my community. I was amazingly close to losing my home and I can relate to the feelings that many residents near the fires of 2007 experienced."
