Bariatric Partners, Inc., headquartered in Charlotte, NC, announced today that it has promoted Joshua R. Blackson to Vice President of Operations effective as of January 1, 2008. Prior to his promotion, Mr. Blackson served as Director of Regional Operations for the corporation. In his new role, Mr. Blackson will continue to oversee all aspects related to facility construction, build out and operations of Bariatric Partners, Inc.'s specialty ambulatory surgical centers operating under the brand name JourneyLiteSM.

Mr. Blackson joined Bariatric Partners, Inc. as Director of Regional Operations in May 2006. Prior to joining Bariatric Partners, he served as Assistant Vice President of Administration at Forest Health Services, a company that owned and managed seven specialty hospitals across the nation under the brand name Barix Clinics and two biotechnology companies. While at Forest Health Services, he held a variety of management positions in customer service, sales, marketing, product development, facilities, and operations. In addition, Mr. Blackson spent two years as part of a team acquiring and managing one of Forest Health's private biotechnology companies.
Mr. Blackson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Chemistry from Spring Arbor University in Michigan. He currently oversees operations for JourneyLite of Houston, JourneyLite of West Florida and JourneyLite of Cincinnati.
