It's an area that has tremendous cache throughout the world and that will only continue to grow over time.
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) January 10, 2008
The luxury home market in Atlanta finished 2007 up 4 percent over 2006 with sales of Buckhead area homes leading the way.
Although some closings for December 2007 have yet to be reported, the sales of single family homes priced $1 million or more increased from 776 in 2006 to 806 in 2007 according to FMLS. Sales of $1 million-plus homes in Buckhead accounted for a whopping 66 percent of the year-over-year increase.
The average sales price of a $1 million-plus home in metro Atlanta was $1,524,430 in 2007. In Buckhead, the average was $1,711,456.
Dac Carver, Executive Vice President and Managing Broker of Beacham & Company, REALTORS, said the numbers show that Buckhead remains the most desirable area of metro Atlanta.
"Buckhead has never gone out of style and probably never will," Carver said. "It's an area that has tremendous cache throughout the world and that will only continue to grow over time."
"We are very fortunate to be competing in this market. There aren't many real estate companies in America who can say that sales in their market increased last year, but that's what happened to us."
Beacham & Company, a Buckhead-based residential brokerage firm that specializes in luxury real estate, has the highest average sales price of any general brokerage company in Buckhead at more than $2.1 million and is the market share leader in homes sold in Buckhead (Area 21 of FMLS) for $2.5 million or more since May.

The company was founded in November 2006, by Glennis Beacham, one of Atlanta's most celebrated real estate agents.
