Scott Hoffman, CAO of the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association, Ocean Grove, New Jersey announces a new series of week-long professional life coaching seminars for all Christian pastors, ministers and other church related spiritual leaders. The Professional Life Coaching Seminars, a series of fourteen weekly seminars, will begin in Ocean Grove on June 23 and continue until August 25. The purpose of the seminars is to help what is expected to be a diverse group of church pastors and other church leaders to find more ways to maximize their leadership skills and build up their potential as church leaders and administrators.
A professionally trained coaching staff, led by Dr. Garland Pollard, will focus the teaching on the many ways the attendees can become more effective leaders and administrators and thus realize much greater and more satisfying professional success. Included will be several practical ways for each individual leader to achieve many career and family goals.
A recent survey confirmed more than 1,500 pastors leave the ministry each month. Reason: they are discouraged, spiritually burned out, grossly underpaid and many have marriages on the brink of failure because being a pastor demands far too much of their time and energy. Your tax-deductible contribution can help correct these problems. The money you send will be used to help pay both tuition and travel fees for low-income pastors who otherwise could not afford to enroll or travel to one of these urgently needed seminars.
When Hoffman was asked: "What does it take to keep church leaders enthused about their careers?" He replied: "Obviously, there is a need in the professional ministry at large for seminars that teach leadership skills, mentoring and the many ways to achieve a more successful and satisfying life style." He then explained: "Sixty percent of the retiring spiritual leaders interviewed who had had successful careers, said that much of their success was due to the sage advice and regular coaching they received from their personal mentors." Therefore, " continued Hoffman, " what we are doing here is to provide the attendees with the same kind of mentoring help and advice but we are doing it with all the advantages of professional coaching in a classroom atmosphere."
The location of the seminars will be Ocean Grove, New Jersey, a National Historic Landmark resort that offers the beach and boardwalk, specialty shops, lodging, restaurants, and Victorian architecture. This has been a popular place for families to spend their summer vacations for many years. Seminar attendees will be provided with comfortable accommodations, breakfast, Ocean Grove beach badges and seminar workbook materials.
The Professional Life Coaching Seminars will be available in three packages with choice of: (1) two days, (2) three days or (3) five days each.
