Orion Health, a leading provider of clinical workflow and integration technology for the healthcare sector, today announced that Canada Health Infoway (Infoway) has selected Orion Health's technology solutions as part of their Preferred Solution Agreements.
This agreement establishes Orion Health's understanding of the requirements for the pan-Canadian electronic health record (EHR) and a commitment to interoperability.
Orion Health's Concerto Medical Applications Portal™ will be a key component of Infoway's Interoperable EHR Program that focuses on implementation of solutions that allow clinicians to view and update an integrated patient-centric health record anywhere at any time.
"The agreement with Infoway validates Orion Health's superior interoperability features and provides EHR programs with the assurance that our technology will easily integrate with existing and future technology systems. We are extremely pleased and proud to be part of this effort to advance the interoperability of the electronic health record through the entire country," says Paul Viskovich, president Orion Health, North American Operations.
The Concerto Medical Applications Portal provides a universal, easy to use solution that delivers accurate patient information and results where and when clinical staff needs it to increase diagnostic accuracy, improve patient safety and reduce costs. Layering on top of existing data structures, a unified view portal solution can provide single view capabilities for physicians, providing simplified, real-time access to a selected patient's clinical information, wherever it may reside.
"Having Concerto part of the solutions available to Canadian organizations will allow them to improve and extend their information systems to deliver more benefits to physicians, reduce workloads and improve workflow, and deliver higher quality patient care for less," Viskovich continues.
Orion Health's clinical information software meets the information needs of clinical staff and healthcare managers, delivery secure, universal access to healthcare information and helping healthcare providers proactively manage and coordinate patient care across the community and entire country of Canada.
Recently, the province of New Brunswick, Canada also announced plans to base their province-wide EHR project on the Concerto Medical Applications portal.
