Cappex.com Awards Seven More College Scholarships

Cappex College Scholarships help students connect with colleges and find their fit.

Highland Park, IL. (PRWEB) January 14, 2008 -- Garrett S., a high school senior in Paris, Texas, gets plenty of exposure to nearby colleges. He's already been accepted to, and is intimately familiar with, Texas A&M and the University of Mary Hardin Baylor.

Vanderbilt University, located 600 miles away in Nashville, Tenn., is another story. But thanks to the Cappex.com College Tour Travel Scholarship he will be able to visit Vanderbilt or any other potential college in the country.

I have been trying to find a way to go to Nashville to visit Vanderbilt University
The Cappex.com College Tour Travel Scholarship provides money to high school students to visit potential colleges. The award is yet another way the Web site helps students find the right college fit. Garrett is one of seven winners of $6,000 in Cappex college scholarships for November and December 2007.

"I have been trying to find a way to go to Nashville to visit Vanderbilt University," Garrett said, "and when the letter came today, I was so excited."

Cappex also awarded College Tour Travel Scholarships to Kate D. of Columbus, Miss., Luke M. from Belchertown, Mass., and Lauren E. from Chesapeake, Va.

Corey M. of Smyrna, Ga., won the first ever "GPA Isn't Everything Scholarship," which placed a priority on involvement, leadership and well-roundedness over grades. Ashley F. of Tampa, Fla., won the communications scholarship. Aprana R. of Plymouth, Minn., won the biology scholarship. And Jeffrey L. of Cerritos, Calif., won the business scholarship.

"I hope to use my business education in the future to establish my own organization to help send health care professionals to states in critical need of them," Jeffrey L. said.

College scholarships are just one way that Cappex.com helps students with their college searches. The site's innovative programs, such as their college message center and "What Are My Chances?" Calculator, expose students to colleges they might not have known about otherwise.

"I am so very thankful for this scholarship and for this site," Garrett said. "(Cappex) has really helped me get general information on a lot of schools and specific communication with ones that I am interested in."

Cappex.com will announce the winners of the next round of college scholarships in February 2008.
