Window Book has posted a web page designed to help mailers prepare for the USPS® Intelligent Mail barcode mandates.

The USPS® Intelligent Mail Barcodes is an electronic system designed for real-time data exchange by the mailers and USPS to communicate info on address quality, presort data accuracy, and postage payment. By combining POSTNET barcode & Planet Code barcode into one Intelligent barcode, it is designed to sort and track mailpieces faster and more efficiently.

In effort to help mailers comply with Intelligent Mail requirements, Window Book's DAT-MAIL has been updated to include Intelligent Mail solutions. These solutions will help mailers to fulfill requirements such as barcoded container labels, electronic mailing documentation options, FAST web services, and pallet tracking.

"The postal world is ever changing so quickly and it is imperative for all mailers to get up to speed on the USPS Intelligent Mail initiatives. In addition to upgrading DAT-MAIL as the Intelligent Mail solution for mailers, we have created a web page called Intelligent Mail Resources. This site provides pertinent information on Intelligent Mail and links and resources to educate and help mailers be prepared for upcoming postal changes," said Lisa Bowes, Window Book's Manager of Postal Affairs.
