Wakefield Development Company's Coastal Division Donates to Local Fire Department

Wakefield Development Company's Coastal Division recently made a $25,000 donation to the Calabash Fire Department during a presentation ceremony held at their newest coastal community, Kingfish Bay, also located in Calabash.

Calabash, N.C. (PRWEB) January 16, 2008 -- Wakefield Development Company's Coastal Division recently made a $25,000 donation to the Calabash Fire Department during a presentation ceremony held at their newest coastal community, Kingfish Bay, also located in Calabash.

"We are honored to make this contribution to the Calabash Fire Department," said Jim Wiseman, senior vice president of Wakefield Development Company's Coastal Division. "Their service to the families and businesses in this town is invaluable, and this is just one way we can help to continue the department's success."

"We are truly grateful for this contribution," said Karl Bennett, fire chief. "This large donation will augment our capital reserve fund. Wakefield Development Company has a long history of corporate citizenship, and we are proud to have experienced this first-hand."

The Calabash Fire Department, established in 1973, has 52 members operating from two firehouses located at 862 Persimmon Road near Thomasboro Road and at 8995 School House Road adjacent to Brunswick Plantation, Calabash, North Carolina.

Wakefield Development Company entered the coastal market in January 2007 with the launch of Kingfish Bay, and San Rio Ocean & River Club, located in Shallotte, North Carolina. Residences at Kingfish Bay will capture the charm and history of the area by featuring a nautical theme and will include townhomes and villas with spectacular views of the Calabash River and natural habitat. Proposed amenities at Kingfish Bay will include the Kingfish Club, day docks, family pool area, adult pool area, fitness facility, off-site boat storage and a private boating club. These amenities will be built with the first phase of townhomes and villas at Kingfish Bay. Pre-construction prices start in the high $200s.
