NCE Computer Group has announced today their purchase of MTI Technology Corporation's Legacy Hardware Business in the United States.

MTI Technology Corporation in the United States filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy in late 2007, leaving owners of their legacy product without any route for support and maintenance. NCE's recent acquisition of the business now provides MTI's existing customers access to NCE's 25 years of hardware maintenance expertise and assures them of continued support for their hardware.

Through this acquisition, NCE has acquired all of MTI's inventory, test equipment, and technical knowledgebase. NCE also intends to hire some of MTI's service engineers and technical support to assist in the ongoing support of the hardware, adding to NCE's own in-house MTI product experience. For customers who held maintenance contracts with MTI, that expire after January 1, 2008, NCE intend to honor the terms and conditions of support under these contracts until the date they expire. This will be done at no additional cost to the customer.

Jan Taylor, VP of Operations at NCE, said "NCE understands the problems that can arise when manufacturers cease their operations and owners of their equipment have no access to ongoing support and maintenance. Now the bankruptcy court has approved this acquisition, NCE can now immediately provide valuable assistance to owners of MTI legacy hardware and extend the life of their investment in this equipment. This acquisition of MTI provides another key development for NCE's ever-growing services strategy, and we look forward to supporting the current maintenance contract customers and any other companies that have MTI equipment."

If you have an existing contract with MTI or have MTI equipment that is not currently supported, and would like more information, contact Joe Aquino on 619-212-3003.
