New York, NY (PRWEB) January 17, 2008
Articulate, the market leader in rapid e-learning software, received high marks by eLearning Guild members in its new Guild Research 360 Report on e-Learning Authoring and Development Tools.
The eLearning Guild is a Community of Practice dedicated to meeting the needs of those involved in the design, development, and management of technology-delivered education and instructional content. More than 1,400 of the Guild's 27,000 member's submitted responses to the survey that led to the report.
Articulate Rapid E-Learning Studio, which includes Articulate Presenter and Articulate Quizmaker, was highly ranked by Guild members in the rapid e-learning development and courseware authoring tools categories.
In the rapid e-learning development tools category Articulate Rapid E-Learning Studio:
- Ranked #1 in PowerPoint to Flash conversion, auto-creation of simple navigation, audio recording and editing, and the ability to create simple basic practice and assessment exercises.
- Ranked #2 in ease of use -- second only to Microsoft PowerPoint. Since Articulate Presenter converts PowerPoint to Flash and installs within PowerPoint, Articulate users create courses using PowerPoint and Presenter -- the top two ease-of-use tools.
Also, only 32.4% of Articulate Rapid E-Learning Studio users indicate that one needs patience to use the tool (vs. 50% for the next most closely-rated tool).
In the courseware authoring tools category, Articulate Rapid E-Learning Studio ranked #1 in ease of use, time to proficiency, cost effectiveness, WYSIWYG editing, and the ability to import/convert PowerPoint. The report also revealed that Articulate enjoys a significantly higher ease-of-use rating than the next highest-rated products.
In previous reports, the eLearning Guild awarded platinum and gold awards based on survey results. Articulate products received many of these awards. In this report, the Guild did not bestow such honors.
"We drill down far deeper into the strengths and weaknesses of each tool, and, paradoxically, this much richer data set makes it all but impossible to determine a 'winner' without Guild management, despite its best efforts, applying a bias," said Steve Wexler, the Guild's director of research and emerging technologies. "Indeed, to our knowledge this is the largest vendor-neutral survey on e-Learning tool use and capabilities ever conducted. It's certainly fair to surmise from the report, however, that Articulate products are highly regarded by Guild members."
"We very much appreciate eLearning Guild members who participated in this study. We value their opinions and were gratified to learn that they validated key product design criteria that we strive for including ease of use, time to proficiency, and cost effectiveness," said Adam Schwartz, president of Articulate.
