Named for 'The Blue Marble' the famous image of the earth taken from outer space during the Apollo 17 mission - an image that shows both the beauty of the planet as well as the inherent fragileness of the earth amid the expanse of space - Blue Marble Spa promotes life in harmony with nature by illuminating the natural beauty of the earth and its current need for our immediate care. A place of incredible beauty and intelligent design, Blue Marble is a spa experience that will exceed guests' expectations, dispensing with the myth that conservation can't go hand in hand with luxury.

For thousands of years spas have helped solve personal beauty, health, and wellness issues. Naturally, it only makes sense that today, given everything we know about the impact we have on the planet, spas play an integral role in solving these issues on a global level.

"We're all connected," says Blue Marble Spa™ Director Kyra Johnson, who has given treatments to celebrities including Hillary Duff, Avril Lavigne and Ashanti and worked with others including Sting, Russell Crowe, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen and Renee Zellweger. "By educating people on how to care for themselves and the planet, we can reach new heights of wellness and connectivity and see beauty more clearly within us and all around us."

Named for 'The Blue Marble' the famous image of the earth taken from outer space during the Apollo 17 mission - an image that shows both the beauty of the planet as well as the inherent fragileness of the earth amid the expanse of space - Blue Marble Spa™ promotes life in harmony with nature by illuminating the natural beauty of the earth and its current need for our immediate care. A place of incredible beauty and intelligent design, Blue Marble™ is a spa experience that will exceed guests' expectations, dispensing with the myth that conservation can't go hand in hand with luxury.

More than ever, voices are being raised about the current and future condition of our world. It is ever clear that humankind has a strong interest in reducing its negative ecological impact. We are all aware that all of our actions, even the smallest, have an impact on the planet. Having the foresight to construct a facility and plan services to best support guests and the environment, Blue Marble™ is helping solve these fundamental issues by providing a model for natural wellness and a place for education and eco-experience.

Surrounded by the natural beauty of Mission Bay in San Diego, CA at the newly transformed Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina, Blue Marble™ sources as much as possible from other green companies and, when it comes to spreading the word about its eco-friendly practices and spa services, uses only recycled paper, eco-friendly cleaning products, offers its treatment menu in digital format, and provides eco-friendly literature for reading and further education.

Eleven gorgeous treatment spaces and a private earth garden are available for Blue Marble™ guests to enjoy: four individual treatment rooms, an oversized suite for couples with individual rain showers, a manicure and pedicure lounge, and five outdoor spa cabanas.

While spa treatments offer guests the beauty and life-promoting properties derived from nature, the Spa uses organic and natural skincare products, offers organic fruits and food options and uses minimal hot water - even spa linens are dyed using eco-friendly processes - to create an indulgent spa experience that ensures guests' total satisfaction.

Blue Marble™ offers a selection of day Journeys based on the fundamental four elements: earth, air, water and fire. Spa Journeys explore each of these elements linking experiential spa treatments and choreographed music to balance, purify, hydrate and stimulate.

The a la carte facials, massages, body treatments, manicures, pedicures and waxing services are all eco-friendly services, too, offered as either natural or fully organic. The Spa Concierge are available to optimize each guest's Blue Marble experience and arrange for groups and private parties to schedule spa experiences before or after hours.

Incorporating a range of conservation principles, including the use of energy efficient light bulbs, floors of sustainable bamboo, low-flow shower heads, and actively encouraging and showcasing recycling efforts, Blue Marble™ connects guests to the idea that little changes in the way we live can create a big impact on the Earth, while restoring and cultivating our own person health, beauty, and wellness.
