The COWBOY MAGIC® company, manufacturer of the popular line of COWBOY MAGIC® quality grooming and horse-care products, is going to the dogs. The Anaheim, California-based company is launching a new campaign to promote COWBOY MAGIC® DETANGLERTM & SHINE and to dog owners and professional dog groomers. The campaign will include advertising and articles in professional dog grooming publications, and expansion of the COWBOY MAGIC® website to provide educational articles, Free E-Books that can be downloaded and other information to dog owners.
“Professional dog groomers and show dog owners discovered COWBOY MAGIC® DETANGLERTM & SHINE more than a decade ago,” says COWBOY MAGIC® President and Founder Jim Cummings. “We have never advertised or targeted our marketing efforts in that direction until now.”
The product’s popularity spread not as the result of aggressive marketing, but rather by word-of-mouth. As word quickly spread through the dog world, Cummings realized that a whole new market was opening up for all his products—and he is positioning his company to reach that market.
“I view our website as being a COWBOY MAGIC® Electronic Brochure and want to create new traffic to the site by providing answers to my customers’ horse and dog grooming questions,” says Cummings.
COWBOY MAGIC® was founded by Cummings in 1995, and its products are currently available in 4,500 retail locations worldwide. “All Cowboy Magic products, with the exception of KRUDBUSTERTM, RAINROTTM SHAMPOO, and Medicated THRUSH KILLER are manufactured under human cosmetic guidelines,” says Cummings. “As a result, all ingredients are listed on the label, product quality control standards are regulated and manufacturing standards are higher than those required for products manufactured for animal use only. Each COWBOY MAGIC® product is clinically tested and Dermatologist reviewed. During the clinical test a minimum of 50 people wear a patch of COWBOY MAGIC® against their skin 24 hours a day for 30 days. The test determines allergy free skin reaction. Only after COWBOY MAGIC® passes this test can the statement "Clinically Tested Dermatologist Reviewed" be printed on the label. Although it costs more to manufacture and market COWBOY MAGIC® products under these high standards, it ensures that our customers are getting what they expect from the product they are paying for. And because our products are concentrated, they work better, last longer and cost less.”
Medicated KRUDBUSTERTM, Medicated RAINROTTM SHAMPOO and Medicated THRUSH KILLER are all classified as over-the-counter-drugs and are manufactured and labeled according to FDA OTC guidelines. “Quality standards for these three products are even higher,” says Cummings. “Years of active-ingredient testing are required to validate product effectiveness. Label statements are regulated to ensure that no misleading statements are made, all ingredients are listed on the label and active ingredients are listed separately, declaring both the percentage of active ingredient used and what effect it has.”
