Boston, MA (PRWEB) January 29, 2008
Eduventures, Inc., the leader in collaborative research and consulting for higher education, has launched a new member-based research consortium - the Summer Sessions Learning Collaborative - designed to help directors of university summer sessions improve the administration, operation, and performance of these programs.
According to Peter Stokes, Ph.D., Executive Vice President of Eduventures, summer session programs are often overlooked and undervalued by colleges and universities, yet are important institutional assets. In addition to providing a growing revenue stream, summer sessions help colleges to accelerate degree completion, extend the reach and visibility of the institution within the community, and provide opportunities to test new products, said Stokes.
The Summer Sessions Learning Collaborative will primarily focus on organizational strategies, programming decisions, and marketing productivity. It will provide members with two large-scale annual research studies - one benchmarking core success measures in summer sessions, the other assessing student preferences and purchasing behavior. It will also provide members with another 12 focused studies on topics specifically related to marketing, student retention, organizational design, serving high school students, offering online programs, and optimizing facility use.
"Too little in the way of deep and systematic information exists to inform key decisions on a wide range of summer session operations, products, and marketing activities," said Stokes. "Administrators of these programs face unique challenges and need a go-to resource like Eduventures that can provide them with the data-driven insight and guidance they need to make critical decisions, boost performance, and raise the overall profile of summer sessions."
