The new website MyMethodology.com will revolutionize the methodology industry. Created using smart software, MyMethodology allows the user to import any methodology, standard or best practice and customize it within the software framework. Once customized, the organization can then apply the methodology to their existing projects.
"Most methodologies are specific to one type of business or environment" says Jason Westland, CEO of Method123 Ltd who specialise in Project Management Templates. "They include industry terminology, are suitable for certain sized projects or teams and they are not very adaptable. Using MyMethodology, users will be able to take any worldwide standards and customize it to fit their environment. Even better, users can navigate different standard so that they can apply different methods and processes, depending on their current situation. This means that they don't always have to adopt the same fixed approach. They can choose which standard or methodology suits the current work at hand, and adopt those best practices, as they see fit."
The new site MyMethodology.com will not only include the software needed to select and customize methodologies, but it will also include all of the top industry standards themselves. Method123 are partnering with various standards organizations around the world, to license their standards and include them within the MyMethodology framework. This means that customers are able to select whichever standard they wish to adopt, without having to worry about where to go to get it.
The news of the impending release comes only days after Method123 released the latest version of their Project Management Methodology "MPMM". The new version was released to allow customers to manage all sizes of projects, in all industries. Based on the project management standard PMBOK from the Project Management Institute, MPMM is growing quickly in the market and already dominates the project management space. Method123 are now considering widening the methodology to apply to other related industries.
"The methodology industry is growing rapidly in the Project Management Community" says Westland. With more companies wanting to implement best practices and not have to re-invent the wheel, companies are going down the 'path of least resistance'. This means adopting practices that people have used for decades. As an example, the way that projects are managed, has not really changed since the pyramids were built in Egypt. There were suppliers, customers, teams, people, equipment and money. They had limited resources and a limited timeframe in which to do it. Many of the techniques used are still used in construction today."
"The trick in building a successful methodology is in making sure that it meets all of the relevant industry standards. It needs to be written by known experts in the industry and it should be applied to thousands of different commercial environments before being publicly released. This is the same process that we went through with MPMM. It was used by approximately 100,000 different project managers, before full commercial use in 2007. Only through widespread commercial use can a methodology truly become successful."
This year, Method123 plan to release the full commercial offering at MyMethodology.com
