A Tribal Village in Vietnam Shares on the Internet

Ta Phin village is trying to benefit from the tourism industry in Sapa, Vietnam. Their newest development is a website which will showcase their culture, village and way of life.

(PRWEB) January 29, 2008 -- Ta Phin village is continually seeking new ways to benefit from the tourism industry in Sapa, Vietnam. The Dao people of Ta Phin have just completed a 5 year CIDA Community Based training program and have partnered with Footprint Vietnam Travel. Their newest development is a website which will showcase their culture, village and way of life.

The initial goal of the website was to be an educational component for people who wanted to learn about the area and the Dao people. The site includes cultural information about the Dao and H'mong people of Ta Phin, the community development projects that have occurred there, and information about the different activities tourists can take part in.

The idea of the website came out of a partnership with Footprint and a tourist group of Australian aboriginals from RMIT University. The website was funded by Footprint and designed collectively in the weeks following the trip.

Now uploaded to the web, the people of Ta Phin have invited the world to learn about their village and culture. It is encouraged the visitor takes ample time to browse the site and to make comments and suggestions. Links to all contact information is available to do so.

Go to http://www.taphin-sapa.info to view the site and learn about Ta Phin.
