New subscription product will give pulp buyers, producers, and industry stakeholders access to proven, powerful forecasting service previously available to limited number of industry players.

Fisher International (, the market-leading information services and management consulting firm to the pulp and paper industry announces the launch of Fisher-STE Forecast Service with business partner Systems Thinking Europe, Inc. (STE). The Fisher-STE Forecast Service capitalizes on the firms' successful collaboration providing customized forecasting services to major players in the industry.

The new subscription service makes available the ability to know when market turning points are coming. Based on the knowledge of top buyers and sellers in the industry and powered by sophisticated mathematics, Fisher-STE Forecasts have been predicting industry turning points for 10 years with a far greater reliability than traditional forecast methodologies.

The reports in this new subscription product forecast both hardwood and softwood markets. Each report shows the next 36 months' prices, inventory levels, shipments, operating rates and more. Graphs and explanation accompany tables. Reports even compare past forecasts to actuals so subscribers can get a feel for the product's reliability.

"Fisher-STE enables us to offer an alternative to the market pulp forecasts currently available. Industry experts tell us that the traditional pulp forecast reports are inherently inaccurate because they don't take into account the complex ways that marketplace forces interactive with each other. We felt that there was a need for a more sophisticated approach that captures the interdependencies between variables but that could be offered at a subscription price. Our forecast consulting engagement services will continue to be available. We are delighted that Fisher-STE can now reach and benefit a larger audience," commented Rod Fisher, President of Fisher International.

Markku Perkola, President of Systems Thinking Europe Oy, said, "We're very happy to continue our long-term relationship with Fisher in a way that allows us to offer the benefits of Fisher-STE Forecasts to a wider client base without sacrificing the quality of the data. Fisher-STE was designed from the start as an efficient, reliable tool to support key business decisions. The new subscription service enables us to offer a full suite of pulp forecast resources to all industry stakeholders in the market pulp sector."
