Six Nations Betting Estimated to be Biggest Ever

The 2008 Six Nations Championship gets underway this weekend in what is expected to be the biggest ever Six Nations betting event ever. France go into this years Six Nations as favourites, but a lot is expected of England after their excellent World Cup performance, finishing runners up to South Africa. There is a whole host of valuable Six Nations information for the Rugby punter on this top site, including all the fixtures, match previews, results, and free bets from all the leading online bookmakers.

Dorset, UK (PRWEB) January 31, 2008 -- The 2008 Six Nations fixtures kicks off this weekend and it is expected that this is going to be the biggest ever Six Nations betting odds tournament. There is huge interest following the Rugby World Cup especially with England's return to form. The Six Nations odds going into week one sees the French as favourites to win the title at 13/8, next in the betting is England at 5/2 with Ireland at 11/2.

The Six Nations is the highlight of the Northern Hemisphere season, and the tournament starts on the 3rd of February and finishes on the 15th March. The first of this year's big games will be the England Wales match in Week One. The next game that is likely to capture the imagination of the Rugby public will be the France Ireland game on week 2, before week 3 sees the French play England at the Stade de France, in a game that could well go a long way in determining the destination of this year's trophy.

Since the introduction of Italy into the competition in 2000, the Six Nations Championship has been dominated by England and France, with only Wales upsetting this trend in 2005. Both England and France have won three and four of the last eight titles respectively and with Ireland without victory in the competition since 1985 the Anglo-French superiority looks likely to continue for another year.

England travel to Scotland to contest the Calcutta Cup on week 5 and the tournament could well be decided on the final weekend, the 15th March, when England play Ireland at Twickenham and Wales play host France in Cardiff.

For those looking for all the Six Nations results, fixtures and previews they are all available on this top class six nations site. In addition, this site also offers the rugby punter an opportunity to get the best Six Nations free bets from all the top bookmakers.
