Acct1st solution saves time for tax professionals using Copanion technology to automatically scan, identify, organize, and bookmark tax documents.

Copanion technology brings the accuracy and ease of use that accountants demand and we are thrilled to be partnering with them to deliver an even better document management and workflow suite.

Copanion, Inc., an innovator in tax document automation, today announced a technology partnership with accounting workflow provider Acct1st™. Copanion™ will provide the technology to power tax return document organization for Acct1st's Scan-&-Organize™ product and will be part of its comprehensive accounting workflow solution, the Electronic Document Records Management System (EDRMS). The newly combined capabilities enable Scan-&-Organize to turn client paper and digital tax documents into well-organized, indexed electronic files - ready for faster, more accurate data entry and review. The web-based application scans, "reads" and classifies data from paper-based forms and PDF files with greater than 90 percent accuracy across thousands of variations of IRS documents. The new solution also includes optimized scanning features that make scanning tax documents as easy as photocopying.

"Acct1st has a robust document management solution that is designed specifically to meet the needs of accountants in firms of all sizes," said Steven Ladd, CEO of Copanion. "We are helping Acct1st expand their highly rated product suite by delivering a technology solution that answers the challenge of form automation at the very front end of document management, where recognition accuracy makes all the difference for success."

"Until now, scanning tax documents just didn't work well enough to meet the needs of our customers," said Andrew Hatfield, CEO of Acct1st. "Copanion technology brings the accuracy and ease of use that accountants demand and we are thrilled to be partnering with them to deliver an even better document management and workflow suite."

Scan-&-Organize will be sold by Acct1st as a part of the EDRMS system or as a standalone solution. Acct1st and Copanion have eliminated the risk of trying Scan-&-Organize with a free trial offer. Tax professionals who register on the Scan-&-Organize website by February 29, 2008 can process client tax documents for one hundred tax returns for free.
