Cablevision Systems Corp. today is recognizing CBS2 HD as its HD Channel of the Day, as part of the ongoing "45 Days In HD, On iO TV" countdown. Available to Cablevision's iO TV customers on channel 702, CBS2 HD is the flagship television station of the CBS television network, located in New York City and covering the tri-state New York metropolitan area. CBS2 HD provides New Yorkers with the latest breaking news, traffic, weather, and current events through newscasts including CBS 2 News This Morning, CBS 2 News at Noon, CBS 2 News at 5PM, 6PM, "CBS Evening News with Katie Couric," and CBS 2 News at 11PM. Online users can also watch the CBS 2 newscasts streamed live every weekday at WCBSTV.com. CBS2 HD is also the home to some of the biggest names in daytime programming, sports and entertainment including "The Price is Right," Dr. Phil, Judge Judy, Entertainment Tonight, David Letterman, and a primetime line-up consisting of hits shows such as "CSI" and "Amazing Race."
During the countdown, Cablevision is recognizing each of the 45 high-definition services iO customers receive at no additional cost, including all nine local professional sports teams in HD. Unlike its satellite and phone company competitors, Cablevision does not impose additional fees and charges on customers who want to "see" in HD.
