Citizen Media Dominates Winter Storm Coverage

Audiences use cell phone videos to capture Breaking News

Nashville, TN (PRWEB) January 30, 2008 -- When the big story breaks Citizen Media is providing the first and most dramatic images for local news departments. Media platform provider Cell Journalist and WKRN-TV in Nashville, TN proved that during a rare winter snow storm that ripped through the mid state.

The hardest hit areas were miles from downtown where all the market's television stations are located. While crews and trucks scrambled to get in place, WKRN-TV scooped the competition with dramatic eyewitness video from viewers. During extended special reports and early evening news programming Consumer Generated pictures and video dominated the breaking news coverage.
