Funderbug Announces Launch of Free Fundraising Website for Non Profits and Other Groups
Funderbug provides free online fundraising for non profits, schools, animal welfare and other groups who are looking for additional ways to raise money.
Hartland, Wisconsin (PRWEB) February 12, 2008 -- After 6 months of testing and fine tuning, FUNDerbug has launched its free fundraising Web site, FUNDerbug.com.
F UNDerbug.com provides non profits and other organizations with an alternate way to raise money. FUNDerbug is different from your typical fundraiser that requires you to sell a specific product. Instead, FUNDerbug offers every participating organization a personalized shopping mall. Now, instead of buying wrapping paper, pizzas or cookies, supporters of these participating organizations can buy only what they want and need.
FUNDerbug partners with over 500 online merchants. Merchants range from those we all recognize and shop at frequently, to many unique, specialty stores, FUNDerbug.com is sure to have a merchant for every shopper.
Sign up for an organization is free, can be completed right on the Web site and takes just a couple of minutes. In addition to providing access to supporters to shop online, FUNDerbug also provides each participating organization with tools to help promote the organizations efforts. Those tools include sample promotional emails, Flyers that can be printed and posted, and banners to embed in other Web sites.
Even in its testing mode, FUNDerbug has helped numerous organizations raise funds.
Texas Wildlife Rehabilitation Coalition is a nonprofit organization that has benefited from FUNDerbug. Operated by volunteer and part-time staff, the organization focuses on conservation and education, as well as wildlife emergency care and rehabilitation (twf-houston.org).
"Texas Wildlife Rehabilitation Coalition loves FUNDerbug, says Heather Morris, TWRC Shelter Coordinator. Not receiving federal or state funding, our organization relies on donations for operating. With FUNDerbug, our supporters shop online - and we receive a check!"
The East Hampton Village Lions Club is using FUNDerbug to support Lion's International campaign, CSFII for the prevention of blindness. P.D.G. Mary Krogh, Campaign Sightfirst II coordinator said "FUNDerbug has been a blessing to our Lion's club and in particular in our fight against preventable blindness through our CSF II campaign. Without spending a dime of their own, our supporters are able to donate to us just by clicking on FUNDerbug and shop away with items they would purchase anyway."
Though participation is open to U.S. organizations only, FUNDerbug can help worldwide causes.
St. John Mission provides food, clothing, education and vocational training to the children of the Batwa people in Burundi, Africa (stjohncatholic.org). Rev. Dave Beaman says "FUNDerbug has proven to be a blessing to charity organizations. I run a mission in Africa that feeds and educates impoverished children for which FUNDerbug has proven to be an excellent resource."
Community organizations can also benefit from FUNDerbug's free services.
Table Talk Foundation for Better Living, located in Greencastle, Indiana, assists those in need of home repairs that are necessary to return homes to a livable standard and was one of the first participants in FUNDerbug. Table Talk Foundation was founded by Bill Hutson, who personally funded this ministry until 2006. Says Hutson, "FUNDerbug is a positive way for folks to buy top quality merchandise while helping those less fortunate in our communities. I am proud for Table Talk to be a part of the FUNDerbug community."
The Lil' A Team (lil-a-team.org) has used FUNDerbug to raise money for the Herma Heart Center at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. The Lil' A Team's Captain, Julie Gomez says "We use Funderbug in addition to our large fundraising events. Funderbug has helped the Lil-A-Team raise money without asking our supporters to buy anything they don't need."
