San Jose, CA (PRWEB) February 4, 2008
TypeRoom, a San Jose startup focusing on website editing technology, has commenced private beta testing of their initial product offering: a website editing tool that allows website owners to instantly edit their own content.
The product, released under the moniker TypeRoom Lite, allows the owner of a website to simply enter in their URL and begin editing their website within just a few seconds.
"It is our goal with TypeRoom Lite to make editing a website as easy as typing a search query into Google or Yahoo," says company Founder and CEO, Reilly Sweetland.
TypeRoom Lite is geared towards a non-technical user-base and works primarily with simple websites.
The functionality of the product is reminiscent of a desktop application even though it is web-based. For example, a viewer can add an image into their existing content by simply dragging and dropping. The content editor itself is akin to a typical word processor and provides for content editing without knowing any HTML. The system also supports linking to uploaded files such as PDFs, Excel Spreadsheets and Word Documents.
TypeRoom is currently accepting a limited number of users into the private beta. As the testing and refinements proceed, additional beta users will be accepted. In exchange for input and bug reports on the application, TypeRoom is offering these beta accounts free of charge.
TypeRoom is a web technology company focusing on innovative solutions to
common content management problems. Headquartered in San Jose, California, TypeRoom has been fully funded by web development company Internet Simplicity.net and was created out of customer demand for a simple, easy-to-use CMS.
