San Rafael, CA (PRWEB) February 4, 2008
PC Guardian, a premier manufacturer of computer and data security products announced today significant growth in demand for new physical security options to protect computers and other valuable corporate assets.
"We're seeing physical security best practices taking hold on more than just computers," said Inka Traktman, VP of Product Development and Marketing for PC Guardian. Organizations are increasingly looking to secure a range of assets besides computers, including digital projectors, cash registers, set top boxes, flat screen monitors, DVD players, and video game consoles. "Adding layers of security around vulnerable assets is an effective strategy, and organizations often deploy the least complex, least expensive option first to make an immediate impact." Continued Traktman, "We're uniquely set up to handle special requests since we control engineering, assembly, and quality control here in the US. It's a real competitive advantage."
As the Director of Broadcast Services at American Airlines Arena in Miami, Dave Vickery needed to secure the Sony PS3 players recently installed in his 28 luxury suites. "We had some theft issues in the past, and wanted to avoid having to physically collect and lock up each console after each game. We needed a way to deter theft in an unobtrusive way without distracting from the luxury suite experience," said Vickery.
"The first vendor I worked with was unwilling to modify the cable length to meet our specs for such a small order. PC Guardian had the components and modified the cable length we needed to fit our suites." The result: "The solution performed as we expected and is just the theft deterrent we were looking for," said Vickery. Products used: Modified Ezolution Duo, Master keyed (Model # 2940-95), Mini Plate adhesive anchors (Model # 4101-00).
A Midwest grocery store chain wanted to use PC Guardian's USB Port Security System to protect the USB ports on their public facing cash registers. To save them money, and due to the registers' unique arrangement of the USB ports, PC Guardian was able to customize the USB Block component so three USB ports on the register could be secured using just one USB lock. Product used: Customized USB Port Security System package.
A large telecommunications company needed a small footprint security solution to lock down a TV, set top box, and modem, part of a presentation system in 70 conference rooms across their organization. The individual components were not inexpensive to replace, and the company needed an effective theft deterrent. Using PC Guardian's mini plate packages, the company was able to inexpensively lock down all three components with one cable/anchor package. Product used: Three Mini Plate package (model # 4140-90).
Later this year, PC Guardian will introduce a customized AV cart solution for an education customer, and a tradeshow security kit for exhibitors needing to protect their latest products displayed on show floors. "We're focused on what the customer needs and how we can provide the most cost effective solutions," said Traktman.
PC Guardian products are available in distribution through Ingram Micro, Ingram Micro Canada, Synnex, D&H, and The Douglas Stewart Company. Resellers include CDW, Zones, Insight, Dell, HP, and many others.
