Sample Sale Benefits Boutiques and Delights Shoppers
My Overstock Boutique sponsors sample sales that offer boutique overstocks and samples at at least 50 percent off of retail. Unlike the traditional sample sale, My Overstock Boutique brings the sample sale experience to unique non-urban locations. The sale of the designer merchandise benefits small retailers across the United States.
Mebane, NC (PRWEB) February 5, 2008 -- Designer clothing sample sales are not just for New York's fashion elite. Specialty boutiques from across the United States are participating in a large warehouse sample sale to be held in Mebane, NC. My Overstock Boutique is sponsoring the February 15 sample sale at the 828 Trollingwood Hawfields location just off of I40/I85 in central North Carolina.
Meg Thomas, the owner of My Overstock Boutique and former owner of The Stock Exchange in Chapel Hill, NC, explains why the unexpected location works. "Mebane is located at the center of several important shopping demographics including University students and professionals with designer clothing tastes but smart buying habits. Although you pass tractors and cows," says Thomas, "the warehouse is only minutes off of the interstate."
During the last six months My Overstock Boutique has recruited specialty boutiques from across the United States to participate in selling their overstocks and samples. Over 40 boutiques are participating. Thomas notes that the 8,000 sq ft warehouse houses over 5,600 pieces of designer clothing. All are marked at least 50 percent off of retail prices. "Due to the downturn in retail sales, boutiques have an unusually large number of overstocks," explains Thomas. My Overstock Boutique sells the new inventory on consignment and plans on returning 50 percent of the total sales to the boutiques.
The large sample sale is scheduled for February 15, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., February 16, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and February 17, 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Credit cards and cash are the forms of payment accepted. Admittance is free.
Directions to the warehouse are: take I40 West from Raleigh Durham Chapel Hill. I40W merges with I85. Continue towards Greensboro. Take exit 152, Trollingwood Rd. Take a right off of the exit, pass cows and tractors, and travel straight through first intersection with stop sign. The warehouse is the second on the right.
