Votigo Powers Simple Plan "When I'm Gone" Photo Contest

Simple Plan fans submit photos representing new song, "When I'm Gone," through Votigo to win a Simple Plan album collection and placement of the winning photo on one of the band's official assets.

Oakland, CA (PRWEB) February 5, 2008 -- Votigo, Inc., the leading online social media platform for user-generated video and photo promotions, today announced that it has been selected by new media marketing agency Fanscape to power the "When I'm Gone" Photo Contest for Lava/Atlantic recording quintet, Simple Plan. The online contest enables fans to submit, vote for, and share the photos that best represent "When I'm Gone," the first single released from the band's upcoming self-titled album available in stores February 12, 2008.

"User-generated contests are excellent opportunities to further connect fans to their favorite bands and help launch a new album," said My-lan Beauford, manager of Online Publicity & Promotions at Fanscape. "The Votigo platform makes it easy to integrate a compelling contest into our overall marketing campaign."

Votigo's social media platform offers user profile pages, fraud-free voting, commenting, and viral sharing tools including widgets and email to help spread the contest message. In the Simple Plan contest, the photo that receives the most votes wins, placing the decision in the hands of Simple Plan fans. The winner will receive an entire collection of Simple Plan albums and the winning photo will be featured on one of the band's official assets.

"Simple Plan is at the forefront of interactive marketing, opening doors for their fans to respond to their music in a highly personal manner," said Mike La Rotonda, co-founder and chief executive officer of Votigo. "Through the photographs submitted for the "When I'm Gone" contest, the band can literally see how their music affects listeners, as fans communicate their own interpretations with others. This contest serves as a great example of how social networking can benefit musicians and fans alike, connecting them in new and innovative ways."

Fans can enter the contest, vote for entries, and share with friends by going to: http://www.votigo.com/simpleplan/. Voting ends March 14, 2008.
