Dorchester, Dorset, UK (PRWEB) February 5, 2008
UK based Tantoni Warmbloods announced today that they have purchased, for an undisclosed sum, the highly successful Oldenburg Elite State Premium Mare Little Star, who is by Santander out of a Rubenstein/Absinth mare. Tantoni's increased investment in quality breeding-stock stands them in good stead to breed an Olympic champion.
Director of Breeding, Georgina Pole-Carew, said, "Little Star is a mare of supreme quality, she produces fantastic off-spring. All her foals have been awarded Premium Status with two of her five being declared stallion prospects. At Tantoni we aim to breed foals to compete on the world stage and Little Star does just that. It took months of patient research to find what we wanted and eventually all the hard work paid off."
Little Star's 2005 Don Larino colt, Don Massimo, was awarded a Stallion License at the November 2007 Oldenburg Licensing. He was promptly acquired by the IPS group of the Netherlands. The IPS group is a syndicate that looks for top talent for their three riders, Edward Gal, Peter van Minderhoud, and Anky van Grunsven.
Uwe Heckmann recently confirmed at a press conference that Don Massimo was bought to be a future horse for Dutch Olympic Gold Medalist Anky van Grunsven.
For the time being Little Star will stay in Germany with Clemens Graf Von Merveldt at Gut Fuchtel in Vechta. Little Star is in foal to Dimaggio - due early April 2008.
Tantoni Warmbloods specialise in the breeding of foals and the rearing of high quality Oldenburg, Hanoverian and Westphalian dressage horses for top level competition. Tantoni Warmbloods horses have excellent potential to compete at the highest levels.
