With the recent changes to the hand baggage security rules, Airport Parking and Hotels, http://www.aph.com, is helping passengers get to grips with the new rules at airports by adding a comparison table to the website, highlighting the new airport hand baggage allowances.

By logging on to the 'Know Before You Go' section of the website, available at http://www.aph.com/news/luggage_table.pdf, customers can find a breakdown of the different airport hand baggage restrictions.

The recent changes to the baggage security rules mean that 22 of the major airports are now allowing travellers to carry up to two items of hand luggage per person on board the plane. However airlines have been allowed to set their own limits with low cost airlines, such as Ryanair and easyJet, still restricting passengers to just one item of hand luggage.

Other changes that have been made include; laptops do not need to be removed from their bags for screening and all items are being asked to be placed in one tray on the x-ray machines, previously items were placed in separate trays. However the previous restrictions that limit liquids to be carried to 100ml containers in transparent plastic bags have not been lifted.

We recommend the savvy traveller to take a look at the table and find out what will apply for your journey…it may not be as straightforward as you think.
