Los Angeles resident beats out thousands of women to win Softlips® Picture Perfect Lips national lip model search.

The Mentholatum Company, maker of the Softlips® premium lip conditioning line, today announces the winner of its second annual Softlips® Picture Perfect Lips national lip model contest. The honorary title of prettiest pout has been bestowed upon Ashton Shane, 22, of Los Angeles, CA, a young woman who was chosen from amongst thousands of entries submitted since the contest launched in March 2007.

"We are pleased to announce Ashton Shane as the winner of our second annual contest," says Nicole Gawronski, associate brand manager for Softlips®, which includes the popular line of sheer, SPF lip balms and lip tints. "We believe that Miss Shane's beautifully-shaped and well-cared-for lips best represent our brand's image of healthy lips."

When contacted with the news of her kisser's coronation, Shane explained how excited she was to be recognized as the woman with the most perfect pucker in America.

"I am very honored to be chosen as the winner this year and would like to thank the maker of Softlips® lip balms for helping me to maintain my beautiful lips,"she says.

The judging for the lip contest was spearheaded by Danielle Korwin, president of the Parts Models in New York City, the only modeling agency devoted solely to beautiful body parts. The winner was chosen based upon the following lip criteria: the shape and fullness, texture, natural color, as well as their photogenic nature.

The 2007 competition involved more than 2,300 contest entries via the Softlips® Web site (http://www.softlips.com) and U.S. mail, as well as various open calls at both college and retail events nationwide this past fall.

As winner of the grand prize, Shane will receive a $2,500 cash prize and a one-year supply of Softlips® products. Ten runners up will also be awarded a year's supply of Softlips® products. A photo of Shane, as well as the runners up, can be found at http://www.softlips.com.
