Valentine's Day Gifts Will Expose Many Cheating Mates this Year, says Infidelity Expert Ruth Houston

Infidelity Expert Ruth Houstons tells how cheating spouses will be exposed by the Valentine's Day gifts they give or receive. Three things associated with these Valentine gifts will lead to the discovery of many extramarital affairs.

New York (PRWEB) February 7, 2008 -- Over $17 billion will be spent on Valentine's Day gifts this year. A New York infidelity expert points out that a significant amount of that money will be spent by cheating spouses and significant others buying gifts for the person with whom they're having an affair.

According to infidelity expert Ruth Houston, who conducts a Valentine's Day Infidelity Awareness Campaign each year, many of these cheating Valentines will be exposed by the gifts they give, or the gifts they receive.

Houston, an infidelity expert who is frequently called on by the media to comment on infidelity issues in the news, says, "There are three activities associated with the purchase and delivery of Valentine's Day gifts by cheating spouses that will lead to the discovery of many extramarital affairs."

1.   A cheating man who wants to remain in his lover's good graces and in her bed MUST buy her a Valentine's Day gift.
2.   The purchase of that gift will leave a paper trail.
3.   In most cases, he will deliver that gift in person.

Houston, the founder of InfidelityAdvice.com, says most Valentine's Day cheaters will be exposed in one of the following ways:

The Incriminating Paper Trail

Some cheating Valentines will be exposed by the paper trail left behind by the purchase of their lovers' Valentine's Day gifts. Regardless of how the gift is paid for -- cash, check, or charge - it will usually leave an incriminating paper trail. "Bank statements, ATM slips, credit card bills and store receipts, and all have a tale to tell, says Houston. "They can call attention to suspicious cash withdrawals, or alert an unsuspecting spouse to expenditures for the purchase of unseen, unreceived gifts."

Disappearing or Suspicious Gifts

Other cheating Valentines, will be exposed by the gifts themselves. Houston's book, Is He Cheating on You? - 829 Telltale Signs (Lifestyle Publications, $29) has an entire chapter on gift-related signs of infidelity. She says, "It's common for a Valentine's Day gift to be found by someone other than the affair partner for whom it was intended. Sometimes the first clue that a husband is cheating will be the discovery by his wife of a hidden Valentine gift she never receives. When the gift disappears from its hiding place around Valentine's Day, it's obvious that it was given to someone else."

Houston continues, "Many cheating men will buy the same gift for their mistress and their wife. Duplicate gifts are usually a dead giveaway. If the wife finds both, she's going to want to know who the other gift is for. Unlike Christmas gifts, Valentine's Day gifts can't be so easily explained away."

"Cheating women are often exposed when they suddenly start wearing a new jewelry on or shortly after Valentine's Day. A suspicious husband or boyfriend who's curious enough to look may find that the jewelry in question is engraved with sentiments of love."

Delivery of the Valentine's Day Gift

Cheaters will go to great lengths to be with their lover on or around Valentine's Day. A cheating man must personally deliver his Valentine's Day gift. A cheating woman must make herself available to receive her secret lover's Valentine's Day gift. This creates another opportunity for the cheating Valentine's to be exposed. Flimsy excuses, unexplained absences, deviation fro m the cheating spouse's normal routine all signal that the "Great Gift Exchange" is taking place.

This lovers rendezvous will usually take place on Valentine's Day, the day after, or the day before, which makes February 13,14, and 15 the ideal time to catch a cheating mate. Private investigators who specialize in infidelity investigations say this is usually their busiest time of the year.

Resources to Help Catch a Cheating Valentine

Since Valentine's Day is peak season for infidelity and extramarital affairs, it's the ideal time to confirm the existence of an affair, or catch a cheating mate. But Houston cautions suspicious spouses and significant others who suspect their partner of cheating, that knowing what to look for is the key. She has four resources to help in finding tangible proof of an affair.
