Governance: The Secret to Successful Offshore Relationships
London, United Kingdom (PRWEB) February 7, 2008
London-based Software as a Service company, BlueOptima, Ltd. today announced the release of the first in a series of podcasts on managing offshore software development programs. The series, entitled "Sitting in the Offshoring Hotseat," is designed for program or project managers responsible for sizable offshore software development efforts, especially in the telecommunications and financial services industries. The podcasts, promoted via banner advertising on selected websites and Google Adwords, will be released periodically beginning February 2008 and will cover a variety of perspectives on managing offshore software development projects including governance, program management, productivity, and metrics.
The first edition of the series is a 26-minute interview with Ernie Zibert, the EMEA Governance Manager for HP Service Strategic Outsourcing Group. Mr. Zibert has 15 years offshoring management experience with outsourcing practices in over 100 countries. The interview, entitled "Governance: The Secret to Successful Offshore Relationships," covers the key elements of getting value from offshore development efforts. It can be downloaded at BlueOptima Podcast.
Jason Rolles, Managing Director at BlueOptima, Ltd said, "The board members of large companies are insisting on offshoring for the apparent cost-saving benefits that it brings. Executives don't always consider or fully comprehend the complexity it adds to any software development program. Managers sitting in the "offshoring hotseat" are at risk of not getting the expected ROI from these projects or worse, ending up with unhappy stakeholders due to project overruns and quality issues. This podcast series will provide these managers key insights from industry leaders on how to extract best value from offshore initiatives and deliver the ROI the board level is demanding." He also noted, "We've gone to great lengths to ensure that we have a truly insightful set of industry experts in this series and we very much look forward to our listeners comments."
