The 75-year old company today unveiled its next generation of the Edisto kayak here at the 26th Southeastern Wildlife Exposition, the largest wildlife art and nature event in the country.
The Edisto is the most versatile of all Folbot models and "is truly the sportsman's dream kayak," says company president, David AvRutick. "It offers the quality, stability and performance characteristics of all Folbot models and has upgrades that are specifically designed to enhance fishing and photography expeditions and add flexibility to extended paddles," he adds.
The Edisto comes in four customizable configurations:
| | - The Edisto base model has an open profile that provides ample room for gear, coolers and even man's best friend. Priced at $1,795.
- The Fish 'n Photo Package allows paddlers to add a higher seat to their boat, making it ideal for anglers, nature enthusiasts and photographers. This package includes the sit-on-top seat, a lightweight fluke anchor, a Scotty Baitmaster rod holder and clamp mount, an outrigger pontoon system, a mini-spray deck and a floorboard. The outrigger system adds even greater stability to the Edisto, creating the perfect fisherman's casting environment or photographer's roost. This package is the latest innovation from Folbot and is priced at $2,205
- The Expedition Mini Package is perfect for shorter trips though bays, estuaries, rivers and larger bodies of water. It includes a mini-spray deck, wilderness repair kit, small rudder and padded longerons. Priced at $2,085.
- The Expedition Full Package allows paddlers to take extended voyages or handle rougher conditions. The package includes the wilderness repair kit, small rudder, padded longerons and a full spray deck and spray skirt. Priced at $2,245

The Edisto was first introduced in 2003, several years before kayak fishing grew to today's popularity. Recent consumer interest and soaring demand has prompted Folbot to create the next generation of the Edisto to help its customers take advantage of this exciting sport.
