Starting Today, Bodog Poker is offering Main Event Prize Packages through its "Main Event Semifinal" tournaments, held every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

It may still be wickedly cold outside, but things are heating up this February in the Bodog Poker Room with the launch of online qualifiers for the 2008 World Series of Poker* Main Event, scheduled for July 3 - 15 at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Starting today, Bodog Poker is guaranteeing at least three $12,000 Main Event Prize Packages weekly through its "Main Event Semifinal" tournaments, held every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Additionally, online poker players can win a seat at this summer's world championship event through Bodog's weekly "Player's Choice" tournaments.

"The WSOP* Main Event is poker's biggest and richest tournament, and Bodog will once again have a major presence at the tables in Las Vegas this summer," said Bodog Founder Calvin Ayre. "Over the past four years, Team Bodog has brought home close to $19 million from the WSOP* Main Event alone, and we're planning on sending a much bigger team than last year to take home even more winnings."

Over the coming months, additional Main Event Semifinal tournaments will be added to the Bodog Poker Room, with more than 120 main event seats expected to be up for grabs between now and this summer.

Online poker players looking to secure their spot at the 2008 WSOP* Main Event alongside Team Bodog pros David Williams, Josh Arieh and Evelyn Ng can do so for as little as $1 or 100 PTS. Qualifiers are running daily now, and all qualifiers lead to the three weekly Main Event Semifinal tournaments held on Tuesdays (7:15 p.m. EST), Thursdays (9:15 p.m. EST) and Saturdays (3:15 p.m. EST). Players can also buy-in directly to the Main Event Semifinals for $250 + $20.

Each Main Event Semifinal will award at least one $12,000 Main Event Prize Package, which includes the $10,000 buy-in to the main event, $2,000 for travel expenses, loads of Team Bodog gear and the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience Las Vegas in total Bodog style, including meeting the Bodog Girls and much, much more.
