Waxahachie, TX (PRWEB) February 9, 2008
Championship Bull Riding, Inc. (CBR) is headed to RFD-TV and RFD HD, premiering March 5, 2008, when the first of many action packed professional bull riding competitions begin airing on these two national cable and satellite networks.
CBR President and bull riding icon Tuff Hedeman said he is excited about the new television opportunity.
"The CBR produces one of the best professional level bull riding competitions in the country. We match up top-notch bucking bulls with many of the best riders in the sport and then combine that with an entertainment atmosphere that the fans can enjoy," stated Hedeman, a 4 time world champion. "The ability to air our events on two networks that target the agricultural community and cowboy lifestyle is a perfect match for the CBR," said Hedeman, a four-time world champion.
Since the association's inception in 2002, the CBR has been aired in prime time 52 weeks annually on the Outdoor Channel. In fact, the CBR program has been voted the #1 Fan Favorite show on the Outdoor Channel for three (3) consecutive years.
With the move to RFD-TV and RFD HD, the number of CBR's program hours will expand. On RFD-TV, the CBR will premiere Wednesdays 10pm EST with repeats airing Wednesdays 12pm EST and Saturdays 11am EST. RFD HD airings include Thursday 12am EST, Thursday 10am EST and Saturday 11pm EST. Overall, this will increase the number of original shows from 20 per year to 32 per year, provide over 156 hours of total broadcast time annually and include encore airings. The CBR's production window will also be shorter now, enabling producers to get the bull riding competition on the air quicker after the live event.
"The major expansion of quality, first-class proven programming continues on RFD-TV and RFD HD with the addition of Championship Bull Riding", stated Patrick Gottsch, Founder & President of Rural Media Group, Inc (parent company to RFD-TV and RFD HD). "Our demographics are a perfect match for CBR. We share the vision of Tuff, and look forward to working with CBR to take their distribution and viewership to the next level."
Rusty Creech, CBR's Chief Operating Officer, says the move will allow the CBR to reach more households and bull riding fans.
"RFD-TV and RFD HD are slighter larger than the Outdoor Channel with over 32 million households--a jump from the 30 million we previously had," said Creech. "This is because RFD-TV is currently delivered through the basic packages on Dish Network and DirecTV, and is in negotiations with multiple cable providers to increase their distribution."
Since its inception, the CBR has enjoyed continued growth in prize money, sponsors, riders and events while sustaining the founder's vision of equality and honesty in the business. Recently, the organization moved its corporate headquarters to Waxahachie, TX.
Championship Bull Riding, Inc. (CBR) - Led by bull riding icon, Tuff Hedeman, the CBR is a nationwide bull riding tour with over 450 television hours in 2007 on SD and HD channels, including more than 104 hours of weekly primetime coverage. CBR has been voted the #1 Fan Favorite Special Interest Show on the Outdoor Channel three consecutive years. Labeled the "fastest hour on television", and the first in the industry to broadcast in High Definition, the CBR promotes high quality, professional level bull riding and can be seen currently each Wednesday on the Outdoor Channel at 11p EST. Beginning March 5th, CBR can be seen each Wednesday on RFD-TV at 10p EST. For more information on the CBR or the schedule of the 2008 events, visit cbrbull.com.
