Dimdim (http://www.dimdim.com), the world's free open source web meeting and collaboration company, today announced that Steve Chazin, an accomplished internet marketing expert has joined the company as its Chief Marketing Officer. Mr. Chazin joins Dimdim as the company expands adoption of its leading web meeting software and develops new consumer and business collaboration services.

Since its launch in September 2007, Dimdim's software has been distributed more than 150,000 times throughout the open source community; Dimdim's free hosted service has been accessed more than 120,000 times, even while in private beta.

Mr. Chazin has spent his career perfecting new approaches to marketing, sales, engineering and design for creative consumers and professionals. Along the way, he has helped small startups like Bowstreet and large companies like Apple, Avid and Raytheon achieve their diverse business objectives. At Avid, he dramatically grew the company's user base, invented viral approaches that expanded strategic markets, drive the product marketing of Avid's most profitable product lines and built Avid's Education vertical business unit. For nearly ten years at Apple, Inc. Steve Chazin was a top sales executive and systems engineer, managed a strategic partnership with the Harvard Business School, and helped Steve Jobs rebuild Apple's marketing efforts, helping return the company to profitability in the late 1990s. Prior to Apple, he was section manager and principle engineer at Raytheon responsible for the design and fabrication of supersonic missile radomes.

Mr. Chazin has a BA in Physics from Franklin and Marshall College and a MSEE from Princeton University. Steve is a frequent speaker and blogs about how great marketing and great design can change the world.
