Columbia, MD (PRWEB) February 14, 2008
It started with a low rumble in April 2004 as a concept, actually a dream, to create a collaborative community focused on supporting companies that meet the standard of a small business as they pursue government contract opportunities. Nearly four years and almost three hundred-fifty members later, The American Small Business Coalition (http://www.theasbc.org) seeks to build on the value proposition it has created for the companies and professionals that make up its growing national community.
One of the Members of that community decided to step up its participation in a big way. Freeport Technologies (http://www.freeporttech.com), a Small Business-Select Member of The ASBC, started the year as a Premier Cornerstone Sponsor and recently upgraded to the exclusive Principal Cornerstone program.
"Freeport's generous support as our Principal Cornerstone Sponsor will have a positive and tangible ripple effect on our other Members," states Guy Timberlake, the chief visionary and co-founder of The American Small Business Coalition (The ASBC). "It's even sweeter that this sponsorship was taken by one of our Small Business-Select Members that has leveraged the CORE™ Membership program in the development of relationships."
On the subject of relationships…
"We feel as if our relationship with The ASBC is part of the reason for our success," says Freeport Technologies president and owner John McGreevy. "Our joining the organization two years ago has resulted in an increased awareness of Freeport in the government sector." In addition to design, integration, installation, and maintenance of turn-key Audio/Visual rooms and systems, Freeport is a certified Value Added Reseller (VAR) for leading industry manufacturers of AV, VTC, and Command Center systems, including Tandberg, Polycom, Cisco, AMX, Sony, Electrosonics, Mitsubishi, and Planar, to name a few.
The Cornerstone Annual Sponsorship program is specifically oriented to benefit organizations seeking to reach out to stakeholders of the government contracting community through multi-faceted activities which include market intelligence events, industry-specific networking opportunities and brand placement. The ASBC produces events such as the Washington Breakfast Club™ and the "Are You FederallyReady?™" web-based radio program for government contractors.
