Application Displays the Current Homeland Security Alert Level on Users Websites

The free application from Miles Tactical (http://www.milestactical.com/hlsa.html) works directly with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's website to display a current color coded National Homeland Security Threat Alert level.

(PRWEB) February 15, 2008 -- Miles Tactical, http://www.milestactical.com, a Tactical Equipment provider, launched an application that works directly with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's website to display a color coded status of the current National Homeland Security Threat Level. The short code can be copied and pasted to any web page and is available free at the Miles Tactical website http://www.milestactical.com/hlsa.html.

The Homeland Security Advisory System has five threat levels ranging from low to severe. The current national threat level is Elevated, or Yellow. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has created recommended actions for each threat level. Some of the actions to take for code Yellow are:

 
  • Complete recommended steps at levels green and blue. Ensure disaster supply kit is stocked and ready.
  • Check telephone numbers in family emergency plan and update as necessary.
  • Develop alternate routes to/from work or school and practice them.
  • Elevated Risk Continue to be alert for suspicious activity and report it to authorities.
