Woodbridge, CT (PRWEB) February 18, 2008 -- KIWI Publishing has a big goal - to help readers around the world to recognize those often overlooked moments that change the way their lives unfold. To advance this goal, the company is collecting Thin Thread stories, offering $1,000 to the winner of its winter writing contest, with a deadline for submission of July 1st, 2008. "Thin Threads Stories - Life Changing Moments," will be published in the fall of 2008; it is the first book in KIWI's Thin Threads book series.

According to co-founder and President, Stacey Krone-Battat, Thin Threads are "moments that are catalysts for growth in our lives. We all experience pivotal moments," says Battat. "Sometimes it is only in hindsight, but these crossroads guide us, inspire us, and often cause life changes. The stories we are receiving from all over the U.S. and around the world are absolutely beautiful…either they compel me to laugh, cry, or contemplate the amazing obstacles that the ordinary person can turn into opportunity."

Whether an individual has personally experienced a Thin Thread moment or has reveled in family lore or the story of a friend, KIWI Publishing wants to hear from people all over.

Each true story of a 'Thin Thread' moment, event or decision told in personal story form, should demonstrate how the course of one's life can be redirected for the better, says Battat. The stories encapsulate the human desire to tell our own stories and relate to other human beings through their stories. KIWI' founders hope that the "Thin Threads" series will enable its story writers, through the process of sharing their personal stories, to appreciate the power of the moments in their lives, and inspire others who read their stories.

The company will compensate the story teller $100 if selected for publication. Moreover, one story will be selected by the KIWI editorial board as the best story of each volume. The reward for winning this short story contest is $500 to the author, and $500 to her or his favorite charity! Part of KIWI Publishing's mission is to inspire people to help make the world a better place and most of the company's endeavors include a charitable component toward this end.

Please review the writing contest submission guidelines at www.kiwipublishing.com or call 1-866-836-7913 and leave a summary of your story and contact information. Media representatives looking for more information or to schedule an interview should contact Stacey Krone-Battat via email at Stacey @ Kiwipublishing.com.
