Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) February 19, 2008
SLAPPA Distribution LLC. today announced the appointment of two new members to its Senior Management Team. Mr. Chris Araldi has been appointed the new Director of Online Operations and Mr. John Kelly has been appointed the new General Manager in SLAPPA's Hong Kong office. The new members of the SLAPPA management team are brought on to further scale SLAPPA's dynamic approach to developing products and grow current and new distribution channels.
Mr. Araldi joins SLAPPA after four successful years in the competitive online travel industry where he instituted and managed an online marketing department that doubled the number of visitors to the site. As Director of E-Commerce at Travel Holdings, Inc., he helped to grow e-commerce sales by more than $40 million. A graduate of the University of Central Florida, he brings an extensive internet marketing background and over seven years of e-commerce experience.
"When I first became aware of SLAPPA and its products, exceptional customer service and how customers have taken to the brand, I realized that the company was on the verge of breaking out," said Mr. Araldi. "In addition to many new products set to launch in 2008, we have some great plans to improve the functions and overall customer experience on the website," he added. "I am very excited with the opportunities we have with SLAPPA and look forward to an exciting future with this special company."
"Our e-commerce sites are a critical part of our success and provide us with a fantastic vehicle in which to stay directly connected to our end users," said Mr. Dominick Martinetti, president of SLAPPA. "We have always set high goals for our web business and we're happy with what we have achieved to date, yet we know we have only scratched the surface. Our plans focus on growing our network of sites and providing users with the ultimate experience. We want to insure that our management team has the expertise and energy to make our plans come to fruition. From our first meeting with Chris we felt that he was a perfect fit for our culture and our needs and we anticipate great results with him as the leader of this exciting business unit," he added.
SLAPPA launched its first website (http://www.slappa.com) in 2003 and online sales now account for 20 percent of the company's total sales. The company projects its online sales to double in 2008. In 2006, the company introduced its Online Franchise Model and together with its United Kingdom partner, launched http://www.slappa.co.uk. This Online Franchise Model enables customers to order in their own currency and take delivery from local distribution centers, while also allowing SLAPPA distribution partners to share in the success of the online sales. The company says it has plans to further expand its web franchises.
"Our Online Franchise Model has been a great success in the U.K. and we are now talking with other partners to take this model into other regions," said Mr. Martinetti. "Chris will play an integral role in the continued development of growing the number of international SLAPPA sites and fostering this model."
Mr. John Kelly has been named as SLAPPA's General Manager in Hong Kong. He brings extensive production, product development and sales experience to this position. Prior to his employment at SLAPPA, Mr. Kelly was the Vice President of OEM Business and Vice President of International Sales and Operations for Case Logic. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Colorado.
"I am happy to join the SLAPPA team and I'm excited to help move the company forward by expanding our product offerings in the coming months and years," Mr. Kelly said. "We've got a great foundation built on high quality, innovative products and top-of-the-line manufacturing partners. It is in this platform that I will the company grow into new product segments and distribution channels. I am very excited about the growth prospects SLAPPA has, and very happy to be a member of the SLAPPA team," he added.
"At a time when SLAPPA's sales have doubled in Europe since 2006, John Kelly has the right background and vision to take SLAPPA to the next level," said Mr. Martinetti. "In his role as GM, Mr. Kelly will be focused on accelerating product development while shortening development lead times. In addition, he will continue to find interesting new materials and implement innovative production tactics that have made SLAPPA products stand out. Customers expect unique designs and progressive engineering from SLAPPA and we will continue to provide that. Mr. Kelly will be a key player in ensuring that our high quality standards are maintained while also expanding our global presence," Mr. Martinetti added.
